President Donald Trump said in a tweet on Dec. 14th that Attorney General Bill Barr will be stepping down before Christmas.

In his tweet Trump wrote, “Just had a very nice meeting with Attorney General Bill Barr at the White House. Our relationship has been a very good one, he has done an outstanding job! As per letter, Bill will be leaving just before Christmas to spend the holidays with his family. Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen, an outstanding person, will become Acting Attorney General. Highly respected Richard Donoghue will be taking over the duties of Deputy Attorney General. Thank you to all!”

Barr’s letter of resignation was attached to President Trump’s tweet in which he said that he was greatly honored to have served the administration and the American people.

Barr spoke highly of the President in his letter and said his presidency was even more historic due to the relentless and baseless attacks of Russia collusion that he had to endure. “Few could have weathered these attacks, much less forge ahead with a positive program for the country” Barr stated.

He also spoke of him brokering peace deals in the middle east as well as stopping the exploitation of China and fighting Mexican drug cartels.
