Trudeau Cracks Down on Crypto, Crowdfunding for Truckers, Targets Freedom Protesters' Bank Accounts

Justin Trudeau’s increasingly fascistic regime will be moving forward with broadening the scope of so-called anti-money laundering and “anti-terrorist” tools, after the freedom convoy truckers used sites such as GoFundMe and GiveSendGo, as well as Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies to help support their fight for an end to COVID mandates in Canada.

The announcements came from Chrystia Freeland, the deputy prime minister of Canada as well as finance minister.

Freeland said that as of the announcement made Monday, all crowdfunding platforms would have to register with the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada [Fintrac], and that from now on, those platforms must “report large and suspicious transactions to FinTrac.”

They will also seize to provide financial services where the institution suspects that “an account is being used to further the illegal blockades and occupations.”

Most surprisingly, however, was the announcement that Canadian banks and financial institutions would be able to review relationships with anyone involved in the blockades.

Moreover, they could also be reported to Canada’s federal police at the RCMP.

With this, large banks will be allowed to, fully legally and without consequence, freeze or suspend accounts without a court order.

“In doing so, they will be protected against civil liability for actions taken in good faith. Federal government institutions will have a new, broad authority to share relevant information with banks, and other financial service providers, to ensure that we can all work together to put a stop to the funding of these illegal blockades,” said Freeland.

“This is about following the money,” Freeland continued. “We are today serving notice; if your truck is being used in these illegal blockades, your corporate accounts will be frozen. The insurance on your vehicle will be suspended. Send your semi-trailers home,” she concluded.
