A New York City hotel worker provided details earlier this week about how illegal migrants who have been put up there on the taxpayer’s dime have created “total chaos” by bringing in drugs and trashing rooms.
In an interview with Fox News, Row NYC staffer Felipe Rodriguez said the hotel, which is currently “closed until further notice” because it is being used to house migrants dropped off in the city, said that New York was supposed to have a housing program, but no one is actually providing much oversight or direction.
“Chaos, total chaos,” he said of the situation at the hotel. “There’s no accountability. The city’s so-called running the program [and] allows these people to destroy these rooms. There is no daily supervision to show these people that … you don’t destroy your hotel. You are only there temporarily. This is not your home.
“Unfortunately, the ones that are paying the price is the hotel workers, Local 6 union workers,” Rodriguez added. “Those guys and those ladies endure a lot of disrespect from the migrants, and there [are] some nice migrants, but there’s too much alcohol, too much drugs and too much violence, and you have teenagers … going into the staircases and making out like it’s lovers lane … This is a free-for-all.”
Rodriguez said he had to be put on disability after he got hurt while trying to deliver a refrigerator to a room that was extremely cluttered at the hotel.

And, to make the situation worse and much more toxic, he said that managers at the hotel were not all that interested in fixing the situation because the hotel is being paid more by the government to house migrants there than the establishment would earn from normal guests.
“Their self-entitlement is beyond belief. They believe that … the hotel is theirs, and they’re going to do what … they want, and our general manager really [doesn’t] care about any of the workers’ toxic conditions or hostile conditions. All he cares about is the money. They wanted more money, so it’s easy money from the city,” he told Fox News.
After border state GOP governors began bussing thousands of migrants to the self-described illegal immigrant “sanctuary,” city leaders decided to start putting many of them up in luxury hotels while providing them everything they could possibly want. Now, after many of those same migrants began tossing away the food they were provided, setting up little cook stoves, and trashing their rooms, officials are working to move them out of those hotels and into mass holding centers.
Only, the migrants don’t want to go. In fact, not only are the balking at being moved, they are demanding (with help from U.S. immigration “activists”) they be provided with their own permanent home at taxpayers’ expense.

Over the weekend, city officials sought to move migrants out of the Watson Hotel in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan and to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal where Mayor Eric Adams has constructed a massive shelter for new arrivals.
Many of the border crossers staying at the Watson Hotel, paid for by taxpayers, are refusing to leave and have instead set up a homeless encampment outside the hotel. There, they are demanding the city “cancel rent” and provide them with “permanent homes.”
