“The Muppet Show” Gets Warning Label from Disney+ Due to “Offensive Content”

If you tune in to old episodes of “The Muppet Show” on Disney+, you’ll now receive a woke warning prior to watching the show.

After making five seasons available for streaming on its service, Disney+ slapped a disclaimer onto each episode, warning viewers that the classic show features “negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures.”

The disclaimer continues, “These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now. Rather than remove this content, we want to acknowledge its harmful impact, learn from it and spark conversation to create a more inclusive future together.”

It continues, “Disney is committed to creating stories with inspirational and aspirational themes that reflect the rich diversity of the human experience around the globe.”

The New York Post reports:

It’s unstated precisely what Disney considers to be offensive on the show, but some characters depict Native American, Middle Eastern and Asian people.

And in season five, legendary country singer Johnny Cash is seen performing in front of a Confederate flag.

The warning will also appear before some iconic movies, including “Aristocats,” “Dumbo,” “Peter Pan,” and “Swiss Family Robinson.”

Disney was slammed on social media for the disclaimer by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) who pointed out the company’s hypocrisy:

“Disney is concerned that ‘The Muppet Show’ is offensive,” he wrote on Twitter.

“But filming where China runs concentration camps for Uighurs? Disney is okay with that.”

Staffer Resigns From Smith College Over 'Anti-Racist’ Programs

“Social Justice” initiatives have pushed one staffer to resign from Smith College in Massachusetts saying it “created a racially hostile environment.”

Whistleblower Jodi Shaw turned down a settlement from the college so she could speak out about the hostile work environment. Shaw is a white woman who describes herself as a lifelong liberal. Shaw wouldn’t normally name her race as a defining character, but says the “anti-racist” programs in the college that allegedly target white employees make race one of the most important features.

Epoch Times reports:

Shaw said Smith College, a small liberal arts school, increasingly pushed “trainings and programs grounded in Critical Social Justice,” which “posits a person’s immutable characteristics” such as race or gender “as more important than their individual character.”

Going further, Shaw said that her workplace subjects her to “additional scrutiny because of my skin color,” adding that she cannot work in a place in which “[her] personal feelings of discomfort under such scrutiny are not legitimate but instead are a manifestation of white supremacy.”

“This was an extremely difficult decision for me and comes at a deep personal cost. I make $45,000 a year; less than a year’s tuition for a Smith student. I was offered a settlement in exchange for my silence, but I turned it down. My need to tell the truth— and to be the kind of woman Smith taught me to be—makes it impossible for me to accept financial security at the expense of remaining silent about something I know is wrong. My children’s future, and indeed, our collective future as a free nation, depends on people having the courage to stand up to this dangerous and divisive ideology, no matter the cost,” Shaw concluded.

Shaw has been trying to get the message out about the school’s hostile work environment on Youtube. Hopefully more messages like Shaw’s get out in order to make a change so that students can go back to getting an education instead of indoctrination.

A Bill Pushing Left Leaning Politics Into the Classroom in Illinois Has Officially Passed

In an article we previously wrote concerning the Illinois State Board of Education passing a bill called “Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading Standards  has officially been upheld by the Illinois Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR).

Some of the new standards include teachers assessing “how their biases affect how they access tools to mitigate their own behavior (racism, sexism, homophobia, unearned privilege, Eurocentrism, etc.)”

Bettina L. Love is a prominent advocate of Critical Race Theory in education and she believes “White Teachers Need Anti-Racist Therapy.”

If teachers do not do so voluntarily the new standards would allow schools to force teachers into therapy for their whiteness , along with punishing them with a loss of license and certification if complaints are made about them not adopting “progressive” ideologies. Teaching about “systemic racism” will be required as well.

Fox Illinois reports:

Some Republican lawmakers voiced their opposition to the standards earlier this month, saying they add unnecessary politics to the classroom.

Sen. Sue Rezin, R-Morris, said she asked ISBE to include more diverse perspectives on their task forces to avoid standards like this from being so controversial in the future, and said the board made some of the changes Republicans asked for.

Rezin said her office got an unusually high number of calls and emails about these standards.

These new teaching standards will take effect in October 2025.

Some lawmakers were not happy with the decision including Republican Candidate for Governor and Former Senator Paul Schimpf:

“I am extremely disappointed that JCAR approved the State Board of Education’s Culturally Responsive Teacher Standards. These standards politicize the teacher certification process and undermine the authority of local school boards, superintendents, and parents to control their children’s’ education. This is yet another example of top-down, administrative overreach by the Pritzker Administration and illustrates a clear example of why Illinois needs a new governor.”
