Taylor Greene: Democrats Abuse Power, Are 'Straight-Up Communists'

During a Fox Business Network interview on Monday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was direct in her characterization of her primary political opponents in the Democratic Party.

When questioned about reports confirming the use of terms like “MAGA” and “Trump” in searches of private bank transactions by the U.S. Treasury Department under President Joe Biden and Secretary Janet Yellen, the Georgia Republican did not hold back in her response.

“The Democrats are straight-up Communists,” MTG began. “They have abused their powers, spied on the American people.”

“Think about the way they censor people, threw people off of social media — they used every ounce of power that they had, and it was all for political reasons,” she continued.

She further expressed frustration over a small number of Republicans who sided with all Democrats last week in voting against the impeachment of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas for his failure to enforce immigration and border security laws.

Last fall, MTG’s attempt to impeach him for dereliction of duty fell short, but she declared in an interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo that she planned to make another attempt after the Thanksgiving holiday.

“This time, the Republicans in Congress better deliver different results,” Greene said on “Sunday Morning Futures.” “Mayorkas must be impeached, and the invasion must stop.”

“Americans deserve security and sovereignty. After the holiday break, I’ll reintroduce my articles to impeach Secretary Mayorkas. Congress must choose between protecting our homeland or the Biden regime. I will not stop fighting for border security and the rule of law,” she wrote on the X platform in a post that contained a video clip of her interview.

The Daily Wire added:

Eight Republicans joined with all voting Democrats last week to approve a motion that kicked Greene’s impeachment resolution to the House Homeland Security Committee, which is already investigating Mayorkas for alleged dereliction of duty in a probe that could lead to impeachment proceedings in the future. Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security has derided what a spokesperson called “reckless impeachment charades” by congressional Republicans.

Certain Republican holdouts clarified that they are indeed in favor of proceeding with the impeachment of Mayorkas. However, they emphasized taking a cautious approach, avoiding haste, and aiming for a conviction in the Senate—a considerable challenge given the current political landscape.
