Survey: Vast Majority of Americans Want Disney To Stop Pushing Woke Sexual Agenda in Content

A new survey has found that a wide majority of respondents want the Walt Disney Co. to return to making traditionally family-friendly content and ditch the ‘woke’ LGBTQ sexual material.

In a national survey by Rasmussen Reports, 1,255 American Adults were polled by telephone and online to gauge their agreement or disagreement with a statement.: “Disney should return to wholesome programming and allow parents to decide when their children are taught about sexuality?”

The result found that “71% of American Adults agreed” that Disney ought to return to “wholesome programming” while giving back power to parents to decide when their “children are taught about sexuality.” That number included 53% who “strongly agreed” with that statement. Twenty-two percent disagreed with this sentiment, and 10% also “strongly disagreed.”

Another question asked those polled about Disney executive Karen Burke’s statement in 2022 — that “the company has ‘many, many, many LGBTQIA characters in our stories” —  “Is such programming appropriate for children under age 12?”

According to the survey, 54% of respondents believe that such programming is not suitable for children under 12. Thirty-three percent found it appropriate, while 13% were uncertain. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

The poll results indicate a 20% shift in cultural attitudes over the past two years regarding the entertainment giant’s initiative to feature gay and transgender characters in children’s programs.

Disney has received criticism at the box office for promoting LGBTQ representation.

Disney Pixar’s movie “Elemental” included a character who identified as non-binary, and the film had one of the worst openings in the studio’s history. It earned only $29.5 million at the domestic box office. Similarly, “Strange World” featured a same-sex teen romance and also did not perform well at the box office, making it a flop for the company.
