Joe Biden’s open-border policies have led to historic levels of illegal immigration and drug smuggling into the country, leading some border states to take matters into their own hands.
Arizona and Texas have been busing migrants to Washington, D.C. for months and have recently begun plugging holes in the border wall using double-stacked shipping containers and razor wire because the regime refuses to act. In addition, Texas has deployed members of the National Guard to assist federal border agents in stemming the tide of illegal immigrants.
But earlier this week, it appears as though Guard members — and Texas residents — may have been betrayed somewhat by Border Patrol agents.
Fox News has the story:
Border Patrol agents on Wednesday opened a gate that had previously been locked by members of the Texas National Guard, in order to allow a number of illegal immigrants deeper into the United States.
Fox News witnessed members of the guard close and lock the gate, which is situated on private property and had previously been open, to deny entry to migrants who had crossed illegally and were expecting to be allowed into the U.S.
The illegal immigrants were then seen standing outside the gate waiting to be allowed in, with the Texas National Guard watching on.
Not long afterward, some Border Patrol agents showed up with a key and opened the locked gate which then allowed the illegal migrants to proceed into the U.S. immigration system for processing (and, no doubt, release into the country).
Mind you, again, this was on private property.
Under GOP Gov. Greg Abbott, the state of Texas has deployed additional law enforcement and Guard personnel under “Operation Lone Star” to combat illegal immigration. In fact, the state has recently begun returning recently-entered illegal aliens to the border, while also building new border barriers.
But Border Patrol agents, Fox News reports, have been increasingly tasked with in-processing migrants to the country’s interior. Now, migrants are beginning to seek out Border Patrol agents versus attempting to avoid them, so they can be quickly processed and then released.
Some migrants are still being sent back across the border under the yet-ongoing Title 42 public health order. But the vast majority of them are released into the U.S. for later immigration hearings that will take years (and most won’t show up). “Of the 199,976 encounters in July, only 74,573 resulted in a Title 42 expulsions,” Fox News added.
“NEW: For the first time, we witnessed the TX National Guard close & lock a gate on private property at a major crossing area in Eagle Pass, denying entry to migrants who just crossed illegally & expected to be let in. Border Patrol then came w/ a key & let them in for processing,” Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin reported via Twitter.

Republicans have lambasted the regime for its open-border policy while honing in on Vice President Kamala Harris, who was given the issue to solve by Biden just a few weeks after he took office.
But it should be obvious by now that the regime doesn’t want the problem solved — that Biden’s policies were specifically designed to create mass illegal immigration.
The question then becomes, what will Republicans do if they win back the majority in Congress?
