Republicans Find Biden White House Connection DA Willis Case, Vow to Launch Investigation

House Republicans have opened an investigation into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis after the House Administration Oversight Subcommittee, chaired by Georgia Republican Rep. Barry. Loudermilk, said it found a letter sent by her in 2021 to House Democrats on the Jan. 6 committee asking them if they had any evidence that would assist her in prosecuting the former president.

Republicans are concerned that the Democrats shared information from their investigations with Willis while not giving them to Republicans when they took back the House, Just the News reported.

A chapter of the report released on Monday was titled “Collusion with Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis.”

“During its initial review of records archived by the Select Committee, the Subcommittee discovered a letter from Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to the Select Committee dated December 17, 2021,” it said.

“In this letter, Willis requested access to any Select Committee records relevant to her investigation into President Trump’s actions to challenge the 2020 presidential election, including ‘recordings and transcripts of witness interviews and depositions, electronic and print records of communications, and records of travel,’” the report said.

“Although no additional communications between the Select Committee and the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office were archived by the Select Committee, the prospect of the Select Committee sharing video recordings of witness interviews with Willis but not this Subcommittee remains particularly concerning,” it said.

“The Subcommittee has opened an investigation into the extent of the coordination between Willis and the Select Committee and is committed to uncovering answers to these questions,” it said.

The judge presiding over the case against the former president, Scott McAfee, is considering if he will disqualify Willis based on allegedly lying about an affair she had with fellow prosecutor Nathan Wade.

Ashleigh Merchant, the attorney representing a co-defendant of Trump who first brought forth allegations regarding an affair between Willis and her subordinate Nathan Wade, testified that she suspects Willis met with Vice President Kamala Harris at some stage during her investigation into the former president, citing a White House visitor log.

During a Georgia Senate hearing probing Willis’ alleged misconduct, Merchant referenced the White House guest list and detailed how Willis visited on February 28th, 2023, and would have undergone thorough screening procedures to arrange a meeting with Harris.

“My understanding is it’s highly regulated, who can access the White House, so you have to apply in person or apply ahead of time,” Merchant said in testimony to the Georgia Senate.

Asked if the meeting took place before the indictment of Trump, Merchant replied, “Yes.”
