Press Sec Fails To Defend Biden In Light Of Document Scandal

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre had a back and forth with reporters who were not happy with her attempt to protect President Joe Biden from criticism regarding his holding of classified documents. As usual, Jean-Pierre did not directly answer questions from journlists regarding comments Biden made about Trump’s keeping of classified documents.

“I want to reference an interview that President Biden did in mid-September with 60 Minutes,” the reporter began. “In that interview, he chided former president Trump for having in his possession classified documents; he called it irresponsible.”

“First of all,” he asked, “do you think it was proper for President Biden to comment on an ongoing DOJ investigation?”

“I’m gonna keep it really short today as it relates to this particular issue,” Jean-Pierre said. “I am going to refer you to the Department of Justice … As it relates to anything that you want to ask of us about this legal matter, I would refer you to the White House Counsel office.”

Jean Pierre was told that he was not asking about the investigation but rather about Biden’s comments about Trump’s classified documents.

“I’m simply asking you to comment on the person that you work for,” he said. Jean Pierre responded, “I just commented. I just commented.”

“We’re moving on; I just answered your question,” she continued.

Jean-Pierre eventually moved on to the next reporter, who changed the subject.

Fox News writes:

Security experts are sounding off about President Biden’s handling of classified materials, suggesting that the documents could have been more susceptible to leaks than those found in former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate last year.

Under scrutiny from Republicans, Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed a special counsel Thursday to investigate the classified materials, which Biden claims were “inadvertently misplaced.”
