President Trump plans to pardon former National Security Advisor General Michael Flynn.

General Flynn was sworn in as National Security Advisor on January 22, 2017. When information surfaced that he misled Vice President Mike Pence about his communications with Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak, he wasn’t left much option but to resign.

The Post Millennial Reports:

In late 2017, Flynn  agreed to partake in the investigation and formalized a deal with Special Counsel Robert Mueller to plead guilty to a felony count of “willfully and knowingly” making false statements to the FBI.

The United States Department of Justice announced that it intended to drop all charges against Flynn on May 7, 2020. Federal district judge Emmet G. Sullivan ruled the matter to be placed on hold.

Flynn is beloved by Trump supporters and is widely regarded as a victim of the Russian collusion investigations. Should President Trump’s legal attempts to overturn the election fail, this may be his final pardon as President of the United States.

The Russia investigation has been highly contested, especially since agents were aware that the Steele dossier leveled fictitious charges against Mr. Trump, and used it as a basis for their surveillance operations.
