Polls Show Biden's Approval Rating at Record Low, Trump’s Lead Widens

President Joe Biden’s approval rating has reached a new low of 37.4 percent. This decline occurs as he faces Donald Trump in the upcoming November 2024 election.

According to Nathaniel Rakich, 538’s senior editor and senior elections analyst, the average approval rating for Biden dropped to 37.4 percent on Monday, reports Project 538.

This record low approval rating for the president comes amid ongoing issues, including the immigration crisis at the southern border and conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine. At the same point in Trump’s presidency, around day 1,238, his approval rating stood at 40.8 percent.

A recent poll indicates that 62 percent of Americans would support mass deportation efforts in the US, including a majority of Hispanic voters. Immigration remains one of the top concerns for voters nationwide despite Biden’s executive actions, which are projected to not prevent at least 1.5 million illegal immigrants from entering the US each year.

The poll also highlighted other key issues for voters, such as the economy and inflation. In contrast, race and diversity, along with climate change, are not top concerns for most Americans. According to the latest average poll numbers on 538, Trump currently leads Biden by one point if the election were held today.
