Police Say Trans Suspect Plotting School, Church Shootings Had Communist Manifesto

Police in Colorado have arrested a suspect who identifies as transgender and found a communist manifesto in their possession after the subject was accused of planning mass shootings at schools and churches in the area.

Although the arrest took place on March 31, news of it was not made public until Thursday afternoon. The timing of the arrest is significant as it occurred just a few days after a transgender terrorist attacked a private Christian school in Nashville, killing six individuals, including three children, the Daily Wire noted.

KRDO notes:

According to the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, 19-year-old William Whitworth – who identifies as “Lilly”- was charged after an investigation into “threats involving schools in Colorado Springs Academy District 20.”

Whitworth “is a biological male who goes by a different female name and uses ‘she/her’ pronouns,” the Daily Wire added.

Whitworth faces charges of criminal attempt to commit first-degree murder (two counts), criminal mischief, menacing, and interference with staff, faculty, or students of educational institutions. The suspect reportedly planned to attack Timberview Middle School, Prairie Hills Elementary, Pine Creek High School, as well as churches and other targets, KRDO reported.

A family member alerted the police about the suspect, reporting that they had threatened to carry out school shootings and had problems with anger. According to reports, the suspect was in the process of transitioning, a spokesperson for the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office confirmed.

Police said the home had “trash piled up all around the house to where it made it hard to walk inside” and that there were “numerous containers filled with half-eaten food with mold growing inside and numerous alcoholic beverage containers laying around the house.”

The suspect reportedly caused damage to the house by punching holes in the walls and tearing a door off its hinges, police said, according to the reports.

According to law enforcement, the suspect nodded affirmatively when asked if he planned to carry out a school shooting and looked “visibly shook.” Whitworth also admitted to planning the attacks for more than a month and writing a manifesto, the reports said.

During the search of the suspect’s residence, law enforcement officials reportedly found the Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, along with a notebook containing suicidal thoughts and the suspect’s manifesto detailing plans for the attacks.

Whitworth also reportedly conducted research on 3D printing firearms, created a list of people to target, compiled information on making bombs, and made comments about well-known mass shooters, serial killers, and politicians.
