Pelosi Wilts After Biden Claims That Trump Could Be 'Future President'

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) appeared to be taken aback by a recent comment from President Joe Biden regarding his 2020 rival, former President Donald Trump.

On Monday, a profile was published featuring Nancy Pelosi, who continues to serve in Congress after resigning from her leadership position. The profile was written by Nolan McCaskill, a reporter for the Los Angeles Times, who spent a day with Pelosi, the Daily Wire reported.

On March 9, when President Biden presented his budget proposal for fiscal year 2024, McCaskill observed Pelosi’s reaction to his speech. At a certain point, Biden referred to his 2020 election campaign against Trump.

“I had a big fight with the former president and maybe future president — bless me, Father,” Biden said at one point, which was followed by a wave of boos in the room, leading Biden indicate he was joking.

Pelosi, who was watching the speech from her office, did not react well.

“Oh, please. Don’t even say such a thing,” she said. “That isn’t kidding. That’s horrible.”

In November, Trump announced his intention to run for the White House for the third time in the 2024 election cycle. While Biden has expressed his desire to seek re-election, he has not yet formally announced his campaign, thus setting the stage for a potential rematch against Trump in 2024.

Despite some criticism from Pelosi during Biden’s speech on his budget plan, there were also positive reviews.

According to the report, Pelosi applauded Biden several times throughout the speech. She also offered a suggestion that he should face the camera directly when he turned away. However, there was a moment during the speech that Pelosi did not appreciate when Biden referred to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) calling him a “liar” during his State of the Union address.

Biden did not mention Greene by name, but instead referred to her as “that gentlelady from Georgia.”

“He’s going to raise her a million dollars by mentioning her name,” Pelosi said.
