Oregon Passes Rule Requiring All Public Schools To Put 'Menstruating Products' In All Bathrooms, Including For Boys

According to a new law signed by crackpot Democratic Gov. Kate Brown last year, all public school bathrooms — including those for boys — will soon be required to provide tampons and other feminine products as well as “instructions on how to use” them.

The controversial requirement comes as the Menstrual Dignity Act is set to take effect requiring that those kinds of products be included in “every student bathroom.”

After the bill was passed, the Oregon Department of Education put together and sent out a “Medical Dignity for Students” toolkit (at taxpayer expense, of course) to assist local school districts and set up a phased plan for compliance with the law’s requirements.

The Blaze further notes:

Effective immediately, each school is required to have menstrual product dispensers in at least two bathrooms. But by June 2023, dispensers are required in every student bathroom, KGW-TV reported. The department emphasized that schools must “consider all-gender access to the products.”

“This new program will help students participate actively in classes and school activities by alleviating some of the economic strain and experiences of shame that are often barriers for menstruating people accessing their education,” Sasha Grenier, a sexual health specialist with the department, said.

Added Michela Bedard, executive director of Portland-based advocacy group PERIOD, in a release: “This is a progressive policy, but also a bipartisan one … because menstruation does not discriminate from race, class or political affiliation.”

As a reminder in case you are confused by all this, the male human species does not menstruate. That includes biological girls who ‘identify’ as boys. But because our society has gotten to this insane point in our history, we have states putting products designed for girls in boys’ bathrooms (recall that once up a time, Oregon was settled by tough, rugged, determined Americans who traveled there via the Oregon Trail and were not at all confused about their gender).

The Blaze:

Apparently, menstruation does not discriminate based on sexual orientation or gender identity, either. The state’s resources for abiding by the law are littered with inclusive phrases such as “students who menstruate” and “menstruating and non-menstruating students.” The department argues the law promotes “menstrual equity.”

The toolkit goes on to say the new law aims to “affirm the right to menstrual dignity for transgender, intersex, nonbinary, and two-spirit students.”

Naturally, the left-wing lunatics who run the Portland Public Schools are thrilled to begin this program.

In a recent statement, the district said that it had already made feminine products available in “female and all-gender restrooms” and added that the products would be provided in “all remaining restrooms, including boys’ bathrooms,” by the beginning of the 2022-23 school year.

Family Research Council president Tony Perkins blasted the “absurd” law and noted that Oregon taxpayers are going to be on the hook for a lot of new supplies and equipment. He also predicted a lot more work for school janitors as young boys prone to pranking each other (and girls) will use the ‘menstruating’ products for gags and whatnot, creating a lot more messes.

“Obviously, state leaders didn’t bother to consult their counterparts in Illinois, where a similar move has literally opened the floodgates to expensive plumbing issues and mischief,” Perkins wrote. “Case in point: campuses like Loyola University, where janitors are dealing with all kinds of pranks, tampering, and vandalism.

Sanitary pads “would end up on the mirrors, in the sinks, down the toilet, and completely thrown out,” one students’ group complained, Perkins noted.

Democrats don’t think about such mundane things, however. It’s not about the issues caused, it’s all about advancing their left-wing agenda.
