More Voters Trust Trump On Economy After Debate: CNN Poll

Democrat presidential nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris has been celebrating since the mainstream media declared that she defeated former President Donald Trump in their debate, but the voters do not see it that way.

She can say all the nice words she wants to, but voters who watched the debate were more concerned with the results they had seen during President Joe Biden and Harris’s administrations.

A poll taken by CNN showed that before the debate had voters trusting the former president on the economy by a margin of +16 but after the debate that number was +20.

“The first results of our instant poll of debate-watchers have just come in and David Chalian is going to join us now to break it all down. David, tell us more,” CNN anchor Jake Tapper said to start the segment.

“Yeah, Jake, and as you noted, this is a poll of debate watchers,” the reporter said. “This is not a poll that represents the overall population, although in partisan breakdown, it is pretty close to what the overall registered population looks like in the country.”

Trump spoke about the economy during the debate and his words apparently resonated with the voters who were watching.

“We’ve had a terrible economy because inflation has — which is really known as a country buster. It breaks up countries. We have inflation like very few people have ever seen before. Probably the worst in our nation’s history. … everybody knows I’m an open book. Everybody knows what I’m going to do. Cut taxes very substantially. And create a great economy like I did before. We had the greatest economy,” he said.

CNN reporter Phil Mattingly spoke to some undecided voters in Erie County, Pennsylvania, after the Tuesday night debate and one of them made the perfect case for the former president.

“It’s important to remember that we are voting for the future of our country, not who we like the most or want at our wedding party. Who is actually going to make our country better?” the woman said.

“We’re in an incredibly unique situation where we’ve had both of the candidates in office before, and we’ve gotten to see what they would do, and when facts come to facts, my life was better when Trump was in office. The economy was better. Inflation was lower. Things were better overall. And now, with Kamala’s administration, things haven’t been so fantastic. She’s saying she can fix the problems that her administration has caused, but I don’t know if I can afford to take that risk,” she said.
