Michelle Obama's Office Says She Will Not Run In 2024

Amid swirling rumors and speculation, Michelle Obama’s office has officially put an end to the speculation regarding her potential presidential bid.

Crystal Carson, the director of communications for Obama’s office, stated unequivocally, “As former First Lady Michelle Obama has expressed several times over the years, she will not be running for president.”

Obama’s allegiance lies with President Biden and Vice President Harris, as confirmed by her office. Despite inquiries from Fox News Digital, Obama’s communication team has remained silent on the matter.

Speculation about Obama’s candidacy emerged amidst ongoing concerns about President Biden’s fitness for office, with some Republicans entertaining the idea of her replacing Biden on the ballot in November. Political commentators have suggested that Obama could pose a formidable challenge to former President Trump, the leading candidate for the GOP presidential nomination.

Biden’s presidency has been shadowed by doubts about his cognitive abilities, fueling speculation about potential replacements within the Democratic Party. However, Obama’s previous statements have firmly denied any ambitions for the Oval Office. In 2019, she stated to Amtrak’s magazine The National, “There are so many ways to improve this country and build a better world, and I keep doing plenty of them, from working with young people to helping families lead healthier lives. But sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office will never be one of them. It’s just not for me.”
