Mayor Adams Blames TX Governor Abbott for NYC Migrant Crisis, Fails to Mention Biden Flying In Illegals

New York City Mayor Eric Adams continues to point fingers at Texas Governor Greg Abbott for the migrant crisis gripping the city, despite the actual cause of the issue: President Joe Biden.

In his latest verbal jab, Adams challenged Abbott to spend a night in a New York City migrant shelter, while Abbott countered that Adams’s sanctuary city policies were exacerbating the border dilemma, Fox reports.

Nearly a quarter of New York’s estimated 150,000 migrants were bused from Texas, but another significant portion, 22%, arrived directly to the New York region from foreign airports, courtesy of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), under Biden’s watch.

One such migrant was Pierre Lucard Emile, accused of raping a developmentally disabled teen girl, who was flown directly from Haiti to John F. Kennedy International Airport as part of the immigrant flights program authorized by the Biden administration.

The influx of migrants directly to New York from foreign airports highlights Biden’s role in exacerbating the city’s immigration challenges. However, Mayor Adams has largely absolved Biden of responsibility, choosing instead to scapegoat Abbott.

The DHS has approved the flights of over 386,000 immigrants directly from foreign airports into the U.S. since launching the program without Congressional authorization in January 2023. The flights, intended for individuals from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and other nations, are part of the controversial “CHNV Program” or the “Advanced Travel Authorization Program.”

Despite the significant impact of these flights on New York City’s migrant population, the Biden administration has failed to coordinate with local authorities or provide transparency regarding the program’s details. This lack of communication and transparency has left city officials like Mayor Adams in the dark about the influx of migrants arriving directly from foreign airports.

Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, which has received the largest number of initial landings from these flights, has criticized the Biden administration for its lack of coordination and transparency regarding the program.
