Maria Bartiromo Explodes on GOP Lawmaker Over Migrant Crisis: 'Sick of Talk, Talk, Talk!'

A visibly frustrated Fox Business Network host Maria Bartiromo sounded off on a Republican lawmaker on Monday morning over the ongoing migrant crisis after the GOP failed to win any border enforcement concessions in the latest government funding bill.

Bartiromo directed her ire at Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.), who defended House Republicans’ record of previously passing border enforcement legislation that has been languishing in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

“So far you have done squat on the border, we know that. You’re dealing with it there on Staten Island and throughout New York. Now the latest news out of this migrant crisis, a 24-year-old migrant was stabbed to death at the Randall’s Island shelter this weekend after being jumped by four people. The suspected stabber, also an asylum-seeker, is under arrest,” Bartiromo said during the segment.

“His three accomplices are unknown. The altercation reportedly happened over a woman. Sources told the New York Post that life in the shelter is ‘full of armed rivals and divisive camps.’ A New York lawmaker shared a video of cars belonging to migrants and illegals. Their cars are being towed outside of the tent shelter,” the host noted further before showing a clip of a car being towed.

“Where did they get these cars, these migrants are entering America illegally, and they have nothing but a bag on their shoulder, and they claim they’re escaping persecution and they want asylum in America. How come they have Cadillacs outside?” Bartiromo asked.

Malliotakis responded:

Not only do they have cars, but the taxpayers are paying for every single one of their needs, from housing to food to healthcare. You just pointed out where our fight needs to be. We need to use the leverage in this appropriation battle to push for that border security.

I’ve always said that we need to reinstate policies of the previous administration and stop the catch and release and make sure we enforce if you’re claiming asylum you need to do so from the next safe country. We have two countries bordering us, and yet, people are coming from 140 different countries. That is what House Republicans need to hang their hat in this battle, and we need to stick together to make sure we do get those policy changes. That’s why I say it’s much more than the topline, what is going to be the policy that’s way to be put in the legislation and that’s where I’m focused.

But, you’re right, this is a perfect opportunity for the Mayor to say New York City taxpayers do not have an obligation to house 8 billion people from around the world if they come to New York City, I said all along, and a court agreed with me, a judge said right to shelter does not pertain to these individuals, and that is why the House passed legislation to prevent more migrant tents from being opened in federal lands. We passed that bill. Of course, Chuck Schumer is sitting on it.

Bartiromo then went off.

“I know. The people want to know what you’re going to do about it and if you’re going to be successful here. We’re all feeling the effect of the horrible policies of this administration, whether it is a wide-open border or massive spending leading to 40-year high inflation,” she began. “The people are sick and tired of memos, and sick and tired of subpoenas, they’re sick and tired of talk, talk, talk. They want to see some action. What are you going to do about it?”

“It can’t just be on the Republicans because we’re the only ones who are actually doing anything,” the GOP lawmaker responded. “People need to elect a new president and they need to get rid of Chuck Schumer as Majority Leader and elect a new Senate. Go after the people who are standing in the way.”
