Literally Everyone Regrets Voting For Biden Except For One Demographic

For months surveys have noted that millions of Joe Biden voters are experiencing ‘buyer’s remorse’ over having cast their ballot for him, especially as it becomes more apparent by the day that he is senile.

Add in ever-higher gas prices, an inflation crisis, a chaotic southwestern border, and it’s no wonder that the man’s approval ratings are hovering between 37 and 40 percent.

But not all voters are expressing regret over their decision to vote for Biden; one demographic appears to be doubling down on their decision.

White college-educated women.

That’s according to NBC, anyway, which recently ran the numbers.

In trying to understand what might account for this, it’s important to note what we don’t know about these numbers. The two publicly available 2022 NBC polling releases that presumably went into NBC’s aggregation here don’t disclose a key datapoint: The likely vote by marital status. And that datapoint is very important for this discussion.

That’s because, historically, married women tend to vote Republican. Single women tend to vote Democrat, in proportions that appear to be sharply increasing. Strikingly, “Among unmarried voters, women were more supportive of Democratic candidates in 2018 than they had been of Hillary Clinton in 2016,” Pew reported.

The 2018 Pew data NBC used for its comparison showed married women were about evenly likely to vote for Donald Trump as for Joe Biden, narrowing the historic trend of married women breaking Republican by a good margin.

“[T]he gender gap between Democrats and Republicans is actually a marriage gap,” noted columnist Mona Charen in 2014, another midterm year. “Single women vote disproportionately for Democrats and married women vote by a comfortable margin for Republicans. The decline of marriage inclines more women to vote Democrat.”

As for Biden’s polling, it’s been consistently horrible since his chaotic, deadly, disastrous pullout from Afghanistan — an operation that our leaders literally had 20 years to plan.

In fact, they are so bad that Democrats and Democratic strategists are in panic mode as we appear to be headed for a summer of higher inflation and a worsening supply chain crisis.

“It’s bad,” an anonymous Democratic strategist said, according to The Hill. “You have an energy crisis that’s paralyzing and inflation is at a 40-year high and we’re heading into a recession. The problem is simple. The American people have lost confidence in him.”

“Everyone needs to come to terms with the reality that we’re going to get slaughtered in November,” the strategist reportedly noted further. “That’s a fact. His polling has gotten worse, not better. It’s indicative of the fact that people have lost confidence in his leadership. There’s nothing they’re going to be able to do.”

Bill Galston, Chair of the Brookings Institutions governance study program and former domestic policy adviser to former President Bill Clinton, said, “Unless and until inflation comes down appreciably, that there’s going to be a ceiling on his job approval that’s a lot lower than the White House wants it to be.”

Gallup senior editor Jeff Jones added that “high gas prices are one of the biggest anchors on presidential approval.”
