Leftist Law Students Lose Their Minds Over Justice Kavanaugh Event at Columbia University

According to emails obtained by Fox News Digital, at least nine progressive student groups at Columbia Law School condemned a photo taken by a group of students with Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in Washington, D.C., and called on fellow students to protest the event.

The meeting with the Trump-appointed justice was posted to the law school’s official Instagram page.

“During the visit, they learned about the human side of being a justice, the Court’s deliberation process, and how to be an effective advocate,” the caption noted. “Justice Kavanaugh also answered questions about a few of his most famous opinions.”

The post elicited a powerful response from numerous progressive student groups at Columbia, one of the nation’s most esteemed law schools. A significant portion of these students aimed their harshest critiques at Kavanaugh, asserting that he was “credibly accused” of sexual misconduct.

The National Lawyers Guild, for instance, claimed that Columbia Law School platformed the Federalist Society and Kavanaugh and in doing so normalized “white supremacist, patriarchal violence in the law, legal education, and the everyday fabric of U.S. society.”

The guild also claimed, falsely, that the Federalist Society was “a symptom” of the disease of “patriarchy and the gender-based violence it facilitates.”

Empowering Women of Color (EWOC) described the initial post, showcasing students and Federalist Society members grinning next to Kavanaugh, as “a terrifying stamp of approval” from the law school.

“EWOC condemns Columbia Law School’s endorsement of Justice Kavanaugh on its social media. We cannot condone complicity with a man who is credibly accused of sexual assault. Given the ethos of our organization, we are also appalled that Columbia Law School would publicize its affiliation with someone essential to the Dobbs decision, which has disproportionately impacted women of color,” the group claimed in what would be repeated across several other left-wing platforms and forums.

Latinx Law Students Association, meanwhile, said that it would withdraw from future student events. The American Constitution Society complained that Columbia Law School “must recognize that there are consequences for its irresponsible and inappropriate actions,” calling Kavanaugh a “radical jurist” who has been “credibly accused by multiple women of sexual assault.”

The Columbia Law Women’s Association, which says it serves a “diverse group of women and femme-identifying individuals,” demanded that “Columbia Law School remove the post; issue an informed apology; and prove that it is capable of more than performative diversity.”

“Justice Kavanaugh’s allegations [of sexual assault] did not disappear just because he put on a robe,” the Columbia Law School Democrats added.

It should be noted that Kavanaugh was investigated by the FBI at several points during his judicial and legal career as he moved up his career ladder, including serving a stint in the administration of then-President George W. Bush. If there were “credible” accusations of sexual assault, the FBI would have turned those up during the course of their many background checks into Kavanaugh.

In addition, those allegations did not surface until then-President Donald Trump nominated Kavanaugh to the highest court in the land, leading to suspicions that the complaints were politically motivated. Finally, some of those who made their claims were disproven and referred to the Justice Dept. for prosecution, but the DOJ never followed through.

None of the left-wing student groups, by the way, bothered to acknowledge that Kavanaugh was the target of an assassination attempt last summer, or that people of like mind protested illegally in front of his home.
