Leftist Country Star Says She's 'Not Comfortable' Going to CMA Awards After Verbally Attacking Brittany Aldean

Liberal country music star Maren Morris has said she’s not yet decided if she’ll attend the CMA Awards this year because she is not “comfortable going” after she verbally assailed Brittney Aldean, wife of country mega-star Jason Aldean over a ‘trans’ post.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Morris, 32, was asked if she had contemplated seeing the Aldeans at the County Music Association Awards show in November after the online exchange, in which Morris also clapped back at conservative author and podcaster Candace Owens. Morris has been nominated for the CMA’s album of the year.

“Honestly, I haven’t decided if I’m gonna go,” she responded. “I’m very honored that my record is nominated. But I don’t know if I feel [at] home there right now.”

“So many people I love will be in that room, and maybe I’ll make a game-time decision and go,” added the “My Church” hitmaker. “But as of right now, I don’t feel comfortable going.”

She went on to say that currently there are “two country musics” right now.

“I think there are people in country music that want it to be niche,” Morris said. “They don’t want it to expand. They don’t care about it becoming more inclusive. It’s theirs, and everyone else is an other, or woke, or whatever.”

Her comments come after she attacked Brittany Aldean over a reel she shared on Instagram in promotion of her new clothing line, “Don’t Tread On Our Kids.”

“I’d really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase,” Brittany captioned her post. “I love this girly life.”

Jason responded to his wife’s post by writing in the comments, “Lmao!! I’m glad they didn’t too, cause you and I wouldn’t have worked out.”

Morris and fellow liberal singer Cassadee Pope felt the need to disparage Brittany, as though she’s not permitted to have her own opinion on the issue.

“It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie,” Morrie wrote, referencing Brittney Aldean’s make-up and fashion line.

Morris was responding to a criticism of Aldean by another country singer, Cassadee Pope, who wrote: “You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the positives in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging. But instead here we are, hearing someone compare their ‘tomboy phase’ to someone wanting to transition. Real nice.”

Morris wasn’t done, however.

“You know, I’m glad she didn’t become a boy either because we really don’t need another a**hole dude in the world,” she added. “Sucks when Karens try to hide their homophobia/transphobia behind their ‘protectiveness of the children.’

“F*** all the way off to Insurrection Barbie and the fellow [Insurrection Barbies] trolling this comment section with their hypocritical, hateful a**es,” Morris continued.

Brittany later posted a lengthy explanation that said, in part, “Advocating for the genital mutilation of children under the disguise of love and calling it ‘gender affirming care’ is one of the worst evils. I will always support my children and do what I can to protect their innocence.” She also posted a message on social media that her words were “taken out of context.”

Following the riff, Jason’s longtime PR firm dumped him.
