In the aftermath of the Capitol riot on January 6, National Guard troops will remain in Washington through the end of march – instead of returning home or heading to cities that actually need them.

Charlie Kirk joined civil rights attorney and Fox News contributor Leo Terrell on Justice with Judge Jeanine with reaction.

“Yeah, it’s ‘we’re in charge and we’re going to show you that we’re in charge by mobilizing over 20,000 troops to Washington D.C. and with one of the most unbelievable displays of force,” he said.

“But now that that precedent has been set, why doesn’t Joe Biden now call the National Guard to go to Chicago? Chicago last year had over 700 homicides, nearly a 52 percent increase from the year before. Over 4,000 shootings in Chicago,” he urged.

“They have now demonstrated they can occupy a major American city, a major American metropolitan city, and basically show in a couple block radius, there will be no crime. I guarantee you there are families right now in Chicago that would love to have the National Guard go in and say, ‘you know what? We’re going to have a couple of weeks of no crime whatsoever.’”

Kirk blasted the democrats for their backwards priorities.

“The reason, though, is because that is not a priority for the ruling class in our country,” he said. “The priority, instead, is to do this sort of pattern of we are in control and we are in charge.

While the Capitol riot was an inexcusable tragedy, Kirk urged the display of force is irrational and out of line.

“January 6th was a tragedy, no doubt,” he said, “but the reaction now and the display of force has gone way beyond any sort of rational reaction and they need to answer why they’re not using that display of force to protect American citizens from the slaughter happening in American cities.”

While on duty to protect our country, 5,000 of the National Guard troops in Washington were sent to a parking garage to rest in between their 12-hour shifts, despite cold winter temperatures. The garage reportedly had one restroom and one power outlet.

Kirk urged that the lack of answers surrounding the continued deployment is something Americans should not tolerate.

“That’s exactly right, the fact that they were put in that parking garage with one outlet and one restroom for thousands of them to share and it turns out dozens of them ended up getting the virus,” he said. “This goes to an even deeper point of, who’s going to start to ask questions of ‘why are they still there in those sort of numbers?’”

“Until there’s some sort of a pushback of, ‘are we really a country where you can call in the military in that kind of numbers to prove a political point?’ We’re not really sure and the lack of answers there without any sort of – as Leo said – a credible threat to justify that kind of force is something that we as Americans should not tolerate,” he urged.

“The kind of perpetual occupation of American cities with the military without this sort of credible force is not something we should accept.”
