The federal judge who gave the go-ahead to raid former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home is an Obama donator who sent him cash donations on two separate occasions.
According to Fox News, Florida federal Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart donated $1,000 to Obama in 2008, and also gave $1,000 to the Victory fund. Federal filings show that the judge also donated $500 to Jeb Bush’s presidential campaign. Bush would eventually drop out of the 2016 race and largely disappear from the American conscience.
Reinhart was also found to have some clear links to notorious pedophile and sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. Prior to being sworn in as a judge in 2018, Reinhard worked at a private practice, and also as an Assistant US attorney in West Palm Beach from 1996 to 2008. He also served as a Trial Attorney in the Public Integrity Section of the US Department of Justice from 1988 to 1996.
Reinhart left his position in 2008 to represent two of Epstein’s close accomplices.
Those two accomplices would later receive federal immunity for allegedly trafficking underage girls.
Reinhart denied any unethical behavior in a 2011 affidavit submitted during a civil case. He assured that he was not part of Epstein’s team, and that he did not revise any confidential information.
Reinhart’s clients included Epstein’s pilots, his scheduler Sarah Kellen, and Nadia Marcinkova.
Trump released a statement commenting on the raid on Monday, saying: “These are dark times for our Nation, as my beautiful home, Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, is currently under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group of FBI agents. Nothing like this has ever happened to a President of the United States before.”
“After working and cooperating with the relevant Government agencies, this unannounced raid on my home was not necessary or appropriate,” he said.
“It is prosecutorial misconduct, the weaponization of the Justice System, and an attack by Radical Left Democrats who desperately don’t want me to run for President in 2024, especially based on recent polls, and who will likewise do anything to stop Republicans and Conservatives in the upcoming Midterm Elections.”
