Jim Jordan Wants to Talk to Fed Prosecutor Who Reportedly Limited Hunter Biden Probe

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan said on Sunday he’d like to get some testimony from a federal prosecutor a whistleblower has said slow-walked and limited a probe into Hunter Biden.

In an interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Jordan specifically called attention to Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf, who an IRS whistleblower accused of impeding specific lines of inquiry regarding President Joe Biden and allegedly providing advance notice to Hunter Biden’s legal team about a forthcoming search of a storage unit, the Daily Wire reported.

“She limited what they could do in their investigation. I mean, that is just as wrong as it gets,” Jordan told host Maria Bartiromo.

“We want to make sure we get a chance to talk to this Lesley Wolf, the assistant U.S. attorney who was handling this case in [U.S. Attorney David] Weiss’ office there in Delaware,” Jordan added. “We think that’s important as we move forward with this investigation.”

The allegations surrounding Wolf are outlined in a whistleblower disclosure to Congress by IRS supervisory special agent Gary Shapley, who asserts that the investigation into Hunter Biden was being mishandled, potentially due to political motivations.

Weiss announced on Tuesday that Hunter Biden, 53, “agreed to plead guilty to a pair of tax charges and enter a pretrial diversion agreement for the gun violation at a proceeding to be scheduled by a U.S. district court judge,” the Daily Wire reported.

However, as revealed in the documents made public by the GOP-led House Ways and Means Committee on Thursday, both Shapley and another IRS whistleblower claimed that IRS investigators had suggested pursuing additional charges against Hunter Biden in different jurisdictions.

Notwithstanding the alleged actions by Wolf that obstructed the investigators, Shapley claimed that even she backed the idea of pursuing additional charges. However, senior attorneys rejected those recommendations, he says.

Furthermore, Shapley claimed that Weiss attempted to obtain special counsel status, which would have granted him broader authority to bring charges, but his request was denied.

On Friday, Attorney General Merrick Garland rejected the claim that Weiss requested special counsel status as well as other allegations.

“He was given complete authority to make all decisions on his own,” Garland said. “I don’t know how it would be possible for anybody to block him for bringing a prosecution given that he has that authority.”

Bartirmo asked Jordan if he planned to subpoena Wolf.

“We’re going to look at all options on the table,” Jordan said. “We want to talk to her. There’s typically a process you go through before you would ever get to a subpoena. But if that’s what it takes, we think it’s important to talk to her.”
