Hunter Biden Defies GOP, Refuses To Comply With Subpoena For Testimony

First son Hunter Biden on Wednesday defied House Republicans when he refused to comply with a subpoena for closed-door testimony issued by the House Oversight Committee.

He also blasted Republicans while claiming that his father was not “financially involved” with his foreign business dealings. He ripped “MAGA” Republicans who have “invaded” his privacy, “attacked” his family, and “ridiculed my struggle with addiction.”

“They belittled my recovery, and they have tried to dehumanize me, all to embarrass my father, who has devoted his entire life to public service,” the president’s son said at a press conference outside the U.S. Capitol Building. “For six years, I have been a target of the unrelenting Trump attack team. ‘Where’s Hunter?’ Well, here’s my answer. I am here.”

He added that “my father was not financially involved in my business,” claiming that Joe was not involved in his dealings with Ukrainian natural gas firm Burisma Holdings or his Chinese investments as well as others throughout the world and the U.S.

“No evidence to support that my father was financially involved in my business because it did not happen,” Hunter Biden said.

This comes roughly a week after Hunter was indicted by a federal prosecutor in California on nine separate charges related to tax issues. Fox News reported that the indictments are linked to “failure to pay nearly $200,000 of income tax in the year 2019.”

Special Counsel David Weiss has been using a federal grand jury in Los Angeles to gather evidence of possible criminal tax charges against Hunter, the outlet continued.

The charges only add to other legal troubles facing the first son. In October, he pleaded not guilty to a federal gun charge related to his allegedly lying on a background check form about past drug use. His not-guilty plea came after a sweetheart deal he struck with Weiss and other federal prosecutors for the gun and other tax charges fell apart when a federal judge examined the conditions.

As for Republicans, many of them have said they believe they have uncovered plenty of evidence tying Joe Biden to Hunter’s business dealings, even to the point of making him impeachable.

Most recently, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer ridiculed an explanation from the White House regarding a claim that President Biden gave son Hunter monthly payments for a truck as “bull crap.”

In an interview with Newsmax TV, the Kentucky Republican also laid out payments from a bank account belonging to a Hunter-run company that was one of many “shell” firms allegedly used to hide payments made to the family and then then-vice president from Chinese government-linked business entities.

“This is money directly to Joe Biden from one of these shell companies… This is the one that received the most suspicious activity reports from the banks… This is what the media said we had to have,” Comer told host Robb Schmitt. “This is what Jean Pierre said didn’t exist; she said ‘Joe Biden was never in business with his son. He never received any money from his son.’ Joe Biden said, ‘Show me the money.’ Here’s more evidence of more money going directly to Joe Biden.”
