Horrific Paul Pelosi Attack Video Released


On Friday, a court in California released surveillance and police bodycam footage of an October 2022 attack on Paul Pelosi, the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, which took place at their San Francisco home.

“The San Francisco County Superior Court made the footage public after Judge Stephen Murphy denied a request two days earlier by prosecutors to keep it secret,” Fox News reported. “The Oct. 28, 2022, attack sent Paul Pelosi, 82, to the hospital for emergency surgery on a skull fracture.”

The then-Speaker was not at home when her 82-year-old businessman husband was attacked, reports said. Paul Pelosi was “violently assaulted,” according to a statement from the Speaker’s spokesman, Drew Hammill. Pelosi was struck with a hammer and underwent surgery for a fractured skull.

“The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation,” he said at the time. “Mr. Pelosi was taken to the hospital, where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery. The Speaker was not in San Francisco at the time.”

Police told CNN that 32-year-old suspect David DePape was immediately taken into custody. The alleged attacker came in through the back of the house sometime before 2:30 a.m. Hammill added that the Pelosis “are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved, and request privacy at this time.”

“Early this morning, an assailant broke into the Pelosi residence in San Francisco and violently assaulted Mr. Pelosi,” spokesperson Drew Hammill said. “The assailant is in custody and the motivation for the attack is under investigation.” Hammill added, “Mr. Pelosi was taken to the hospital, where he is receiving excellent medical care and is expected to make a full recovery.

“The Speaker and her family are grateful to the first responders and medical professionals involved, and request privacy at this time,” he said.

The U.S. Capitol Police, the FBI and the San Francisco Police Department conducted a joint investigation into the attack, according to the Capitol Police, which noted in a statement that staff from a field office “quickly arrived on scene, while a team of investigators from the Department’s Threat Assessment Section was simultaneously dispatched from the East Coast to assist the FBI and the San Francisco Police with a joint investigation.”

“Special Agents with the USCP’s California Field Office quickly arrived on-scene, while a team of investigators from the Department’s Threat Assessment Section was simultaneously dispatched from the East Coast to assist the FBI and the San Francisco Police with a joint investigation,” the statement continued. “The law enforcement agencies will provide more information when it can be released.”
