GOP Oversight Committee to Hold FBI Director Wray in Contempt of Congress Over Failing to Produce Biden Document

Republican Congressman Comer (KY) has taken action in his pursuit of the truth surrounding an explosive document involving President Biden and a foreign national.

Comer has issued a subpoena to the FBI, demanding access to an FBI-generated FD-1023 form that allegedly describes a criminal scheme where money was exchanged for policy decisions.

Despite setting multiple deadlines, the FBI has refused to comply, citing the need to protect confidential sources, Fox reports.

Comer condemned the FBI’s obstructionist behavior and pledged to hold FBI Director Wray in contempt of Congress for defying the lawful subpoena.

Comer emphasized the importance of transparency and vowed to protect congressional oversight authorities.

“Today, the FBI informed the Committee that it will not provide the unclassified documents subpoenaed by the Committee,” Comer said Tuesday. “The FBI’s decision to stiff-arm Congress and hide this information from the American people is obstructionist and unacceptable.”

In response to Comer’s claims, the FBI stated its commitment to cooperating with the committee, assuring access to responsive information while maintaining confidentiality and security. Director Wray has scheduled a call to discuss the matter further.

“In a letter to Chairman Comer earlier today, the FBI committed to providing access to information responsive to the Committee’s subpoena in a format and setting that maintains confidentiality and protects important security interests and the integrity of FBI investigations,” the FBI said. “Last week, Director Wray scheduled a telephone call for tomorrow to provide additional details of the FBI’s extraordinary accommodation to satisfy the subpoena request.”

The document, which would serve as another blow to the Biden family’s credibility, gained attention after a whistleblower approached Comer and Senator Grassley, alleging that the FBI and the Justice Department possessed it and that it contained precise details of a criminal scheme and its purpose.

Grassley echoed Comer’s sentiments, emphasizing the consequences of the FBI’s failure to comply with their constitutional oversight duty.

“While I have a call scheduled with FBI Director Wray tomorrow to discuss his response further, the Committee has been clear in its intent to protect Congressional oversight authorities and will now be taking steps to hold the FBI Director in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a lawful subpoena,” Comer said.

To address concerns raised by FBI staff, Comer attempted to narrow the scope of the subpoena, refining the terms based on legally protected whistleblower disclosures mentioned in the document.

The back-and-forth continued as Comer and Grassley informed Director Wray and Attorney General Garland about these disclosures earlier this month.

The FBI has maintained that releasing confidential source information could jeopardize investigations and endanger lives. They assert their commitment to cooperating with congressional oversight while safeguarding ongoing operations.

The White House has consistently denied any involvement of President Biden in his son Hunter’s business dealings and investigations concerning his family members.
