'Fuller House' Actress Cameron Candace Bure Hopes New Film Will Lead More to Embrace Jesus

Candace Cameron Bure shared on her Instagram that she hopes the “Jesus Revolution” movie will inspire others to develop a more profound connection with their faith.

The movie features “Frasier” actor Kelsey Grammer and centers around religious themes. The “Full House” star also posted the trailer for the film on her social media page.

“@jesusrevolutionmovie hits theaters THIS FRIDAY, February 24th…which means if you didn’t have any weekend plans, now you do! Ultimately I pray this movie is used for His glory, and for people to hear the gospel and turn to Jesus,” Bure wrote in her media post caption.

Recently, Bure, 46, received backlash for her statement that she will not include same-sex couples in any of her holiday movie projects, but the Christian believer isn’t backing down.

Bure, who now works as Great American Family’s chief creative officer, noted recently that she wants to put religion back into Christmas movies, Fox News Digital reported. She left Hallmark after that network decided to all more ‘diversity’ in its content, including a Christmas film featuring a gay couple, “The Holiday Sitter,” which was released in December.

“I think that Great American Family will keep traditional marriage at the core,” she said after being asked by The Wall Street Journal if she would green-light any films with LGBTQ themes.

That said, the chief executive of Great American Media and the original creator of the Hallmark Channel countered that there no set content plan.

“It’s certainly the year 2022, so we’re aware of the trends,” Bill Abbott told the WSJ. “There’s no whiteboard that says, ‘Yes, this’ or ‘No, we’ll never go here.’”

Bure left Hallmark in April after spending more than a decade at the network and starring in 10 holiday movies and 30 films overall.

“My heart wants to tell stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them,” she told the WSJ. “I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment.”

During a recent appearance on “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” Grammer became emotional while discussing his portrayal of Pastor Chuck Smith in the upcoming film. The moment occurred after the show played a clip from the movie. Grammer expressed his affection for the film, stating through tears that he “really loves it.”

As reported by CBN News, the actor also shared that his wife, Kayte Walsh, was equally moved by the film when they watched the first cut of it at home. He recounted that Kayte was in tears and said to him, “Oh my God, it’s the best thing you’ve ever done.”

During the interview, Kelsey Grammer became emotional as he spoke about his character in the upcoming film. He explained that his character is a pastor who is struggling with his faith and his job but finds a new purpose when a hippie comes into his life and starts a movement that is still going today. Grammer confirmed that the film is based on a true story and shared that he has been approached by people who knew Chuck Smith and had been baptized or married by him.

The actor told hosts Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest that his character “is a man looking for his own faith and finds it as well. A man whose church is empty. He can’t get traction and he’s started to think he’s going to be fired from his job as a pastor.”

“This hippie comes into his life,” he continued. “And he finds new purpose and started a movement that’s still going. It’s extraordinary.”
