A White House physician who served under Trump and Obama has called for President Biden to take a cognitive test after his performance in a rare press conference on Wednesday.

Biden was asked during the conference by Newsmax’s James Rosen about the perception that he is in mental decline; he tersely rejected the premise.

“I’d like to raise a delicate subject, but with utmost respect for your life accomplishments and the high office you hold: a poll released this morning by Politico Morning Consult found 49% of registered voters disagreeing with the statement, ‘Joe Biden is mentally fit.’ 

“Not even a majority of Democrats who responded strongly affirmed that statement. Why do you suppose such large segments of the American electorate have come to harbor such profound concerns about your cognitive fitness?” Rosen asked.

President Biden responded “I have no idea,” then quickly moved on.

The exchange prompted physician Dr. Ronny Jackson, who served under both Obama and Trump to tweet: 

“BIDEN JUST IGNORED A QUESTION ABOUT HIS COGNITIVE DECLINE!”, he wrote. “Something is WRONG with him. This man IS NOT qualified to be President!! I am demanding he have a cognitive test NOW. There’s too much on the line, we need to know!”

Jackson also referred to Biden as an “embarrassment.”
