Former GOP Lawmaker Working With Hunter Biden's Legal Team: Report

A former Republican congressman from Virginia has joined Hunter Biden’s legal team.

Denver Riggleman will help defend the first son against allegations of corruption and influence-peddling, including charges he acted as a representative for a foreign government without first registering with the State Department, as required by law.

Riggleman, who previously held the position of representative for Virginia’s 5th Congressional District but lost in a primary election to Rep. Bob Good, confirmed to CBS News on Tuesday that he is collaborating with Hunter’s legal team on analyzing “data across the spectrum.”

“I and my forensics, data, and telephony team are conducting data investigations and analysis for Hunter Biden’s legal team,” Riggleman said after being spotted meeting with Biden’s legal team at a D.C. hotel, the report noted.

He was also invited to the White House Independence Day party to meet and greet alongside Hunter and his father, President Joe Biden.

“Truth matters. When I took this job, I wasn’t pro-Hunter or anti-Hunter. I am pro-data and facts,” Riggleman said on Twitter. “Forensics make clear that considerable information linked to Hunter Biden is questionable.”

“The American people deserve the truth. Sourcing, expert data analysis and facts-based insights are the only way,” he added. “I look forward to the truth coming out.”

In a statement, Kevin Morris, Hunter’s lawyer, indicated that there is a significant amount of misinformation circulating concerning Hunter’s laptop and the corruption allegations surrounding him.

“Denver has been assisting us with data analysis since late last year,” Morris told CBS. “He is an invaluable resource and we have made tremendous strides in untangling the massive amount of corruption and disinformation involved in this story. There will be much more coming to the public.”

The New York Post initially published accounts regarding Hunter’s laptop in October 2020, shortly before the presidential election. Initially, the reports faced substantial restrictions and censorship on social media, with traditional left-leaning mainstream media casting doubt on the evidence. But in the few years since, several prominent news outlets later verified the authenticity of the laptop, although this confirmation came months after the election.

Riggleman, known for his outspoken criticism of former President Donald Trump, served as an investigator for the January 6 Committee. He authored a book titled “The Breach,” which chronicles the committee’s efforts in investigating the events of January 6th, shedding light on the work conducted by the Democrat-led committee.

Hunter, who recently reached a plea agreement concerning tax-related charges, is facing further scrutiny for purportedly leveraging his father’s influence for financial gain overseas.

A recently reported WhatsApp message indicated Hunter issued a veiled threat to a Chinese businessman by invoking his father, who he claimed was in the room with him at the time.
