Female Track-and-Field Star Warns Women Are Retiring From Sports After Having to Compete With Biological Men

After Democrats spent decades advocating for women’s rights, the party has since abandoned that stance and has gone all-in with the far left’s transgender agenda, which includes the destruction of women’s sports, leading to more female athletes speaking out.

Selina Soule, a track and field champion who had to compete against biological males in high school, passionately urged fellow women to join her in defending the rights of female athletes. As she gears up for a legal battle against the state of Connecticut, Soule called for solidarity and support in ensuring fair competition for girls and women in sports.

“Everybody who has encountered this issue needs to speak up and ask for fairness,” Soule said last week on “America Reports,” per Fox News. “I was one of the very first to start speaking on this issue, and it’s taken a while, but we are finally starting to get somewhere…we need to protect every single girl in this country.”

She went on to urge “everybody out there…to start speaking on this issue and ask for fairness to be restored to women’s sports.”

Soule made her comments on her way back to court to appeal her case challenging a Connecticut ruling permitting transgender students to engage in sports aligned with their self-identified gender, Fox News reported.

In 2020, Soule and fellow high school track student-athletes initiated a lawsuit against the Connecticut Association of Schools, claiming that the policy permitting biological males to compete against females violated Title IX.

The Alliance Defending Freedom is currently engaged in efforts to appeal a ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Robert Chatigny, who dismissed the lawsuit on procedural grounds. Chatigny stated that since the two transgender athletes involved in the case had already graduated and the plaintiffs could not identify any other female transgender athletes, there was no remaining dispute to address, the report continued.

Joining her client in the Fox News interview, Soule’s attorney, Christiana Kiefer, asserted that women are being deprived of athletic opportunities within their own sports due to the inherent physical advantage held by biological men.

“Girls deserve to compete on a level playing field, and what Selena experienced…was being sidelined in her own sport, and that’s a clear violation of Title IX,” she argued.

During an appearance on Fox News, Hannah Arensman, a former 35-time national cyclocross champion, announced her decision to retire from the sport at the age of 25 after she suffered a defeat by a biological male competitor in last year’s women’s championships.

Soule said she finds it “devastating” that trans-males are pushing women out of their own sports.

“It’s devastating that there are women out there who are retiring or changing their events because they are being forced to compete against biological males where those males if they were competing in the men’s category, they would be barely mediocre. But in the women, they are dominating the field, and it’s a very, extremely frustrating situation,” she told Fox News’ Sandra Smith.

“It should not be happening. Women’s sports should be preserved as just women’s sports,” she said.
