Awkward family Thanksgivings could start to look a whole lot different with an added ‘I turned my relative into the FBI’ component. It’s not just social media’s giant tech companies asking you to monitor your family for what they perceive as “extremism” but the witch hunt task is now being asked of you by the government.
On Sunday the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) took to Twitter to urge Americans to spy on their family. “Family members and peers are often best positioned to witness signs of mobilization to violence. Help prevent homegrown violent extremism.” The tweet then includes a link to “Visit to learn how to spot suspicious behaviors and report them to the #FBI. #NatSec.”
The link in the tweet goes to the Department of National Intelligence (DNI) “booklet” about “homegrown violent extremism.” The tweet led to multiple responses pointing out the obvious dangers, such as Ted Cruz who responded on Twitter stating, “In both Cuba & China, they also ask children to spy on their parents…”
Richard Grenell, former Acting Director of National Intelligence under the Trump administration responded on his Twitter account, “This is outrageous. The @FBI has a growing credibility problem and this type of sinister snitching is clearly unhelpful. Why hasn’t the @fbi made more progress finding the BLM rioters from last summer? Why hasn’t the @fbi leadership apologized for the Russian hoax they pushed?”
Just last month, the New York Times published the article, “White House Unveils Strategy to Combat Domestic Extremism.” The article praises Biden’s “national strategy to combat domestic extremism, calling for aggressive steps such as hiring more intelligence analysts and screening government employees for ties to hate groups.”
The Times writes the “32-page plan highlights a shift in the government’s approach to counterterrorism, which for decades has prioritized fighting foreign terrorists. But violent attacks by American extremists are growing, a problem laid bare by the deadly Capitol riot on Jan. 6.”
The White House and the Times could not be more transparent in their bias and hatred towards conservatives. And now, in the name of “security” Biden has “requested over $100 million in additional funds for the Justice Department to hire prosecutors, investigators and analysts.” In other words, the Biden administration is using taxpayer money to place anti-conservative liberals in high powered positions to punish conservative thought. This is very dangerous.
