Experts Warn Of Increasing Violence On Left From 'Trantifa' Militants

There are new concerns being raised by Antifa and feminist experts regarding the escalation of violence and extremism among certain radical transgender activists.

Incidents ranging from shootings to riots have prompted these new concerns, Fox News reported Tuesday, and some individuals have coined the term “Trantifa” to describe this particular phenomenon.

Antifa is a far-left militant movement known for its alleged opposition to fascism, though followers use fascist tactics to intimidate and commit violence against opponents. The movement is most often characterized by members wearing black clothing, and face masks and engaging in violent protests. Recently, the term “Trantifa” has emerged on social media to emphasize the significant transgender presence within the anarchist group.

The Daily Mail used the definition of “far-left transgender activists willing to intimidate, harass and even use violence to advance their radical new ideas about gender.”

Reem Alsalem, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls since August 2021, is among several experts who have expressed concerns about the rise of extreme transgender activism. An investigator for the UN, Alsalem voiced her alarm about this issue during an interview with the U.K. media outlet.

“There is an increasing trend that I have been observing,” she said, going on to point to attacks on activist Riley Gaines, a former champion collegiate athlete who has become a women in sports advocate.

Alsalem talked about how Gaines was “ambushed and hit” by “screaming trans activists” at San Francisco University after she was invited to speak about keeping female sports all-female.

At the time, Eli Bremer, Gaines’ agent, told Fox News Digital: “Instead of a thoughtful discussion tonight at SFSU, Riley was violently accosted, shouted at, physically assaulted, and barricaded in a room by protestors. It is stunning that in America in 2023, it is acceptable for biological male students to violently assault a woman for standing up for women’s rights.”

Alsalem went on to warn that public officials throughout the Western world must “ensure that the freedom of speech and thought, including on the issues of sex, gender, and gender identity, be protected and upheld.”

Townhall senior writer Julio Rosas, who offered his testimony at a House hearing in May concerning left-wing violence, possesses a wealth of knowledge on the topic due to his extensive reporting on various Antifa-related riots.

“Trans activists gravitate towards these very far-left groups, because they share their anarcho-communist type ideology,” Rosas told The Daily Mail. “They view the US as systemically racist, that it’s subjugated queer people, and that states passing laws against child mutilations is part of a trans genocide. And they’re fighting back.”
