Ex-Lawyer For Major J6 Witness Seeks Default Judgment Against Dem-Run Committee

The January 6 Committee is being sued by the attorney for one of its star witnesses, Cassidy Hutchinson.

Stefan Passantino began his suit in December when he sued the government, alleging it violated his due process rights and damaged his reputation by reproducing her claims about his representation of her.

The government did not respond by April 15, the deadline, and he has now requested that a default judgment be entered.

“As of the time of this filing, the United States of America has not answered or otherwise responded to the Complaint and thus it is in default,” his court filing said, Just The News reported.

“The Jan. 6 Select Committee in its final report of December 2022 has accused Passantino of coaching or pressuring Cassidy Hutchinson before her testimony before the committee to stay loyal to Trump, something he has adamantly denied. This was cited as a reason her original testimony about the events of that day changed so drastically,” the report said.

In an interview on CNN last week Hutchinson said she would consider voting for President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election.

“I would absolutely consider voting for President Biden,” she said on CNN. “I would encourage, I would never tell Americans how to vote, but I do know there are a lot of Americans who currently are on the fence about who to vote for. And these are active conversations that we need to engage in over the next six, seven months.”

“But I would encourage people on that fence to really do a deep dive and look at the damage that Donald Trump has done to our democracy and what he would continue to do in a potential second Trump term and to really weigh that when they’re considering who to vote for,” she said.

Hutchinson, who was unknown, has made a career of making media appearances criticizing former President Donald Trump.

“Policy is important for who we elect to the Oval Office. But what I argue, especially in this next election cycle, is the character of the individual matters far more than any policy that they may or may not implement,” she has said. “Donald Trump’s character has been evident for a very long time, but he’s had a team of people around him who have really isolated him in this false identity of a strong man.”
