End Of the Narrative: More Latino Voters In Swing States Trust Trump On Immigration

According to a recent poll in key swing states, more Latino voters trust former President Donald Trump on immigration issues than President Joe Biden.

According to a recently released Equis poll, 41% of Hispanic voters trust Trump to handle immigration, while only 38% said the same for Biden. The survey reached out to 1,592 registered Latino voters in the battleground states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

The poll found that 49% of non-Hispanic voters trust the former Republican president and the GOP on immigration, compared to only 34% for Biden and the Democrats.

The survey indicated widespread frustration among Latino voters regarding Democratic achievements on immigration, with 72% of Latino respondents describing themselves as either “very” or “somewhat” concerned about Democrats’ “broken promises” on the issue. Additionally, 65% of Latino respondents expressed concern over the Democrats’ failure to provide a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants.

The survey is the latest to show declining voter approval for Biden on immigration, particularly among Latinos.

In a recent CBS/YouGov poll, 53% of Hispanic adults expressed approval for a proposed new national program that would deport all undocumented immigrants currently living in the U.S. illegally. Only 47% of Hispanic respondents opposed this measure, which falls outside the poll’s margin of error.

The same survey found that 62% of respondents were in favor of deporting all illegal immigrants from the United States. The majority of men, women, independents, conservatives, moderates, Republicans, individuals with a four-year college degree, those without a college education, and people over 30 supported such a plan. The groups mainly opposed to this plan were black Americans, Democrats, liberals, and adults under 30.

According to a recent Economist/YouGov survey, only 29% of Americans approve of President Biden’s handling of immigration. Conversely, over 60% of respondents in the Economist survey expressed disapproval of his handling of the issue. Among those who disapproved, 47% said they strongly disapproved.
