Comer Says Whistleblower in Hunter Biden Case 'Disgusted' By Leftist Media, Democrats

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) said this week that a whistleblower who has provided insider details regarding the investigation into Hunter Biden was motivated to come forward by after becoming “disgusted” by the left-wing media and Democrats.

This Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agent, who is being called “Whistleblower X,” will have their identity revealed during a hearing scheduled for Wednesday, Comer said during an interview on “Fox Across America With Jimmy Failla.”

“I think the way they treated the first propelled the second to come forward,” Comer noted. “I think they’re disgusted at how the Democrat Party and the liberal media has treated the first whistleblower. These are respected IRS agents who have always done the right thing and who operate by the book.”

In addition to supervisory special agent Gary Shapley, an unnamed IRS agent has come forward to assert that the investigators leading the Hunter Biden case deliberately delayed the inquiry, potentially resulting in less severe charges for President Joe Biden’s son.

During testimony before the House Ways and Means Committee behind closed doors early last month, “Whistleblower X” self-identified as a Democrat who has “always strived not to let politics enter my frame of mind when working cases.”

Despite unanimous support from Democrats on the committee to maintain the confidentiality of the testimony, their votes were overridden by the Republican majority. Richard Neal (D-MA), the ranking member, attributed the objections regarding the “process” rather than the substance of the disclosure.

Comer, who has faced criticism from Democrats following the indictment of Gal Luft, an individual he previously highlighted as a “whistleblower” and American-Israeli energy expert, contended that his colleagues on the other side of the aisle exhibit a double standard when it comes to whistleblowers.

The Democrat Party “always claims they protect federal employees” unless those officials are “blowing the whistle on one of them,” Comer said. While he agreed that some people who claim to be whistleblowers are “not credible or they’re just simply disgruntled employees,” the Kentucky Republican went on to say that the IRS whistleblowers “have spotless records” and as such must be heard.
