Colorado Woman Facing NO Jail Time For Statutory Rape After Getting Pregnant By 13-Year-Old Boy

A 31-year-old Colorado woman who admitted to having sex with a 13-year-old boy who got her pregnant were not be serving any jail time, reports noted on Monday.

“I feel like if she was a man, and he was a little girl, it would definitely be different,” the victim’s mother said, according to Fox News. “They would be seeking more. I feel like because he is not a woman, they are not. They are having compassion for her.”

In June 2022, the Fountain Police Department in Colorado arrested Andrea Serrano on charges of sexual assault on a child by someone in a position of trust and sexual assault on a child, both of which are considered felonies, the report said.

According to police reports, Serrano acknowledged to law enforcement officials that she engaged in sexual activity with the minor, who cannot be named due to his age. Following her admission, she was apprehended and taken to the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center, where she remains detained while her case progresses. Serrano has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors, resulting in the charges against her being reduced to a lesser offense that does not necessitate a prison sentence. As a result, she may be released from detention and avoid serving any jail time for her actions, the report added.

The terms of the plea agreement, which were scrutinized by KKTV in Colorado, mandate that Serrano register as a sex offender. Furthermore, she may be subjected to intensive supervised probation for a period of 10 years to life as part of the terms of the deal.

The family of the victim is contemplating the subsequent course of action in the case, as they maintain that Serrano’s actions have had an indelible impact on his life.

“I feel like my son is robbed of his childhood. Now he’s having to be a father. He’s a victim, and he’s going to have to live with that for the rest of his life,” the victim’s mother told KKTV.

She is now demanding an explanation regarding why Serrano will not be serving any prison time for her offense, and has stated that the family intends to pursue full custody of Serrano’s child.
