Co-Defendant In Trump's Georgia Case Wins Three-Month Delay

One of the co-defendants in a RICO case filed by Fulton County, Ga., District Attorney Fani Willis against former President Donald Trump has secured a three-month trial delay.

“As a current member of the General Assembly, the Defendant is automatically entitled to a continuance and stay from ‘all aspects of the case,’” the latest filing in Georgia state Sen. Shawn Still’s (R) case said.

The Hill reported that pre-trial motions in Still’s case must now be filed by mid-April.

“All other provisions, including initial reciprocal discovery obligations, remain in place,” the filing read. “Additional extensions will only be considered upon the filing of a particularized motion containing a detailed, fact-based explanation of the need for the extension, including the amount of time needed.”

In September 2023, a federal court barred Still and two other individuals referred to as “fake electors,” who were accused of conspiring with the former president in Georgia, from pursuing their cases in federal court. U.S. District Judge Steve Jones issued three separate rulings, concluding that David Shafer, Cathy Latham, and Still could not assert their status as federal officials when they signed documents in December 2020, falsely claiming to be electors representing the Peach State.

“The Court finds that Shafer was not a federal officer when operating as a Republican-nominated presidential elector,” Jones wrote in Shafer’s case.

In August, conservative podcaster Benny Johnson posted a series of tweets that shed light on the partisan background of Willis and provided evidence of her having previously questioned election results.

Johnson’s findings suggest that Willis has a strong bias and political affiliation that could potentially influence her actions.

Johnson’s investigation into Willis’ social media history highlighted her clear support for left-wing ideology and figures. He pointed out posts where Willis openly endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, while her Facebook page was adorned with Black Lives Matter (BLM) content. Johnson also noted a “proud Democrat” mug on her desk seen in news footage.

“A dive into Fani Willis’ social media proves that she is a hardened, radical activist — not an unbiased ‘attorney.’ Fani’s pages are littered with BLM propaganda and deep partisan adherence to left-wing ideology. She openly worships Joe Biden and Kamala Harris,” Johnson wrote to begin his thread.

Notably, on the day of the 2020 election, Willis expressed concerns about Georgia’s voting process and called for thorough vote counting, particularly in Fulton County.
