CNN Guest Suggests Black Trump Supporters 'Might Be Paid'

Democrats are concerned about the support that former President Donald Trump has gotten from black men and they do not appear to want to believe it.

During an appearance on CNN, commentator Angela Rye suggested that pollsters were speaking to “imaginary black folks” when confronted with the numbers that showed the former president garnering 17 percent of the black vote.

“I don’t make anything of these polls that are talking to imaginary black folks. I would love to know, for one, who they’re talking to, because I’ve not seen them anywhere,” she said.

A Fox News poll showed that the former president was getting 26 percent of the black vote which would be an astronomical number for a Republican candidate.

The news had Rye make a stunning accusation that the pollsters could be paying black people to say that they would vote for the former president.

“I think that they are, you know what, they might be the invisible man that Ralph Ellison talked about in his book,” she said. “I don’t know who these people are. There was a Trump ad that was released, I believe today, that’s targeting black women voters. And there are these people who allegedly exist all throughout the country, and they’re reading scripts. You can see their eye-line going over here. And I think some of them might be paid to say some of these things. I’m not sure.”

“I’m not giving any credit to these polls. Polls end up being wrong all the time and I’ve seen polls that say 15%, 19%, 18% of black folks,” she said. “I don’t believe it at all. I really don’t.”

But The Daily Caller News Foundation spoke to Trump Black Media Director Janiyah Thomas who had a simple reason for the former president gaining more black voters.

“Black voters knows that President Trump is up in the polls with Black voters, a record high that we haven’t seen in decades.  The reason is clear:  Black voters know that our lives were exponentially better under President Trump – we were more wealthy with Trump, we were safer with Trump, we were more confident with Trump,” he said. “Meanwhile, Kamala Harris panders to Black voters with collard green recipes and gaslight concerts, Team Trump is going into deep blue cities and standing up grassroots engagement on a national platform.”
