Cellphone Data Appears To Contradict Testimony By Nathan Wade, DA Willis

New information suggests that Nathan Wade made significantly more visits to the neighborhood of Fulton County, Georgia, District Attorney Fani Willis than previously disclosed in court.

A filing submitted on Friday by the attorney of former President Trump alleges that there were at least 35 visits by Wade to the Hapeville neighborhood prior to his hiring, suggesting to some that he and Willis were having a relationship well before she hired him as a special prosecutor in the case, which — if true — would contradict their sworn statements filed in court that they only started seeing each other after he was hired.

Fox News reported: “Wade testified last week that he did not visit Willis’ condo more than 10 times before being hired in November 2021. Willis and Wade maintain that their relationship began in early 2022. Willis hired Wade in 2021 to help prosecute her sweeping racketeering case against Trump. Trump co-defendant Michael Roman alleged in court filings last month that Willis should be disqualified from the case, claiming she financially benefited from hiring Wade because of their personal relationship.”

The date when the relationship between the two lawyers began holds significant importance in the ongoing dispute initiated by Trump’s attorneys. They contend that their romantic involvement undermined the integrity of the case.

The defense seeks to establish the existence and magnitude of any financial advantage to Willis resulting from her relationship with Wade, which forms the essence of their argument for Willis’s disqualification.

Cellphone data additionally indicates that Wade visited Willis’ apartment late at night on two occasions and remained there until the following morning.

Both Wade and Willis have testified that they did not sleep together at the Hapeville condo, Fox News reported.

“We are required to respond to the filing via the court, and we are preparing a response now,” a spokesperson for Willis said of the Friday filing, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.

The Friday affidavit claims that cellphone data reveals Willis and Wade exchanged over 2,000 phone calls and nearly 12,000 text messages during the first 11 months of 2021.

Judge Scott McAfee will now need to determine whether to accept the Friday affidavit and the cellphone data it presents as evidence, Fox News added.
