As the complete militarization of our nation’s capital is underway, a new report from the Associated Press which cites a U.S. Army official and a senior U.S. intelligence official claims no plot against Vice President Joe Biden has been uncovered.

This comes after U.S. defense officials claimed they were concerned about an “insider attack” at Biden’s inauguration, prompting the FBI to investigate all of the National Guard troops in the city.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott condemned the vetting process for National Guard members deployed to D.C., calling it “the most offensive thing I’ve ever heard.”

“No one should ever question the loyalty or professionalism of the Texas National Guard.

@TexasGuard. I authorized more than 1,000 to go to DC. I’ll never do it again if they are disrespected like this,” he wrote on Twitter.

The AP reports that there were two guardsmen removed from an inauguration security operation in the city for having ties to “fringe right group militias.”

“The Army official and the intelligence official spoke to The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity due to Defense Department media regulations. They did not say what fringe group the Guard members belonged to or what unit they served in,” writes the publication.
