'A Battleground Now' - Dems Claim Trump Has Real Shot At Winning Big Blue State

President Joe Biden’s campaign is in such a disastrous state that one of the bluest states in the nation is being considered a “battleground” by a prominent Democrat.

“We’re still acting like this is a one-party state, which for pretty much 20, 25 years it has been,” Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, a Democrat, said of the state of New York to Politico. “I truly believe we’re a battleground state now.”

“The implications for control of Congress are real enough that I think this needs more national attention,” he said.

And former Democratic New York Gov. David Paterson said that having to defend New York could cost the president in other states.

“The money that needs to be spent here will be subtracted from other areas he’s going to lose,” he said.

And they were not the only New York Democrats to express concern.

“If I’m a Democrat in some of these suburban races, I’d run the hell away from Joe Biden,” Nassau County Executive Laura Curran said.

“It’s never been more important for a Democratic House member to focus on building their own local brand and to run on that,” another top Democrat who was granted anonymity said. “Biden isn’t going to be handing out coattails no matter what. He’s only got anchors.”

And on Tuesday, Democrat Rep. Mikie Sherrill of neighboring New Jersey called on the president to step aside.

“One of President Biden’s most significant accomplishments was defeating a man who represented an existential threat to the nation and the institutions upon which this country has been founded: former President, Donald J. Trump,” the representative said. “We cannot allow Trump to return to the White House.”

“Because I know President Biden cares deeply about the future of our country, I am asking that he declare that he won’t run for reelection and will help lead us through a process toward a new nominee,” she said.
