6 Shot, Including 2 Kids, In DC Mass Shooting

Wednesday night outside a Washington D.C. apartment complex, tragedy struck when multiple individuals, including two boys aged 9 and 12, were victims of a fatal shooting incident, Fox News reports.

Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela Smith detailed the grim event at a press conference, revealing that the assailants, believed to be two in number, emerged from a vehicle and unleashed gunfire from across the street. In the hail of bullets, six people were struck.

Upon arrival, responding officers discovered one man fatally wounded. Additionally, a woman, a 9-year-old boy, and two other men were found with gunshot injuries in the vicinity.

Chief Smith further disclosed that a 12-year-old boy had been rushed to a nearby hospital, also suffering from a gunshot wound, confirming him as another victim of the attack. Fortunately, all surviving victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Expressing her dismay at yet another instance of senseless violence, Chief Smith conveyed her condolences to the affected families and emphasized the urgent need to combat such incidents within communities.

Authorities are actively seeking a light blue Toyota sedan, potentially linked to the shooting, described with UNK tags, no front tags, dark tints, and black rims.
