Hunter Biden's Attorney Challenges Cocaine Allegation in DOJ Filing, Claims Picture Was Actually Sawdust

Hunter Biden’s attorney has found a new way to dispute a picture included in a recent Special Counsel Filing, asserting that it depicted sawdust rather than cocaine, as previously alleged.

The image, among multiple photographs reportedly showcasing Hunter’s drug abuse, had been submitted by the Justice Department to establish his addiction during a gun application denial, the New York Post reports. Hunter’s lawyer had emphasized that the photo was taken in his psychiatrist’s office and had been given to him by a “coke addict” carpenter to instill hope for overcoming addiction.

Criticizing the prosecution’s approach, Hunter’s legal team had deemed the move “reckless” and potentially prejudicial, stating that it would surely “prejudice Mr. Biden in the public eye.” They had likened the mistake to a comedic plotline rather than an expected standard in a high-profile DOJ prosecution, as Hunter’s lawyer had stated, “Mistaking sawdust for cocaine sounds more like a storyline from one of the 1980s Police Academy comedies than what should be expected in a high-profile prosecution by the U.S. Department of Justice.”

The Justice Department had not provided immediate comment on the matter, as Fox News Digital had reached out for clarification.

Hunter Biden had faced federal gun charges, having pleaded not guilty to accusations of lying about drug use on a firearm purchase form in 2018. While acknowledging past struggles with crack cocaine, he had denied any legal wrongdoing, affirming that he had ceased drug use and had been working towards personal improvement.

The court filing had followed charges against an FBI informant for providing false information. This informant had alleged financial improprieties involving Joe Biden and his son in relation to Ukrainian dealings.
