House Republicans are calling out loads of woke nonsense in President Biden’s proposed $7.3 trillion budget, igniting a fierce debate over the administration’s spending priorities, Fox News reports.
Biden’s 188-page budget proposal, released Monday, outlines approximately “$5 trillion in tax increases overall,” with a focus on corporations and the top 2% of earners. However, House Budget Committee Chairman Jodey Arrington, R-Texas, has drawn attention to the allocation of funds towards ideologically-driven projects.
Biden's proposed budget is chock full of woke BS:
-$5 trillion tax hike
-$90 billion for free community college
-$8 billion for Biden's American Climate Corps
-$3 billion for "gender equity" worldwide
-$1.5 billion for TSA "pay equity"
-$1.5 billion to the EPA for…— GOP (@GOP) March 12, 2024
Arrington’s memo highlights billions directed towards green energy and equity programs.
Notably, the proposal includes $3 billion for gender equity initiatives, $1.5 billion for pay equity within the Transportation Security Administration, and $11 billion for preserving cultural heritage across America.
The budget also allocates significant funds to address climate change, with $8 billion earmarked for the American Climate Corps and $10.6 billion for clean energy research and development at the Department of Energy.
Critics argue that these allocations reflect a prioritization of progressive policies over fiscal responsibility, particularly as the national debt approaches $34.5 trillion and the budget deficit stands at $531 billion.
Arrington emphasized the symbolic nature of the budget, recognizing its unlikelihood of passing through the Republican-controlled House. However, he condemned Biden’s budget as a reflection of misplaced priorities, asserting,
“Budgets are more than just numbers on a spreadsheet – they are a set of values and principles – and based on his FY25 budget, it is clear President Biden values a bigger, more radical, and more powerful federal government over the freedom, safety and economic security of his fellow Americans.”
