GOP Congressman Introduces Articles of Impeachment Against President Biden

Rep. Greg Steube filed articles of impeachment against President Biden on Monday.

While multiple congressional committees are building their case to remove Biden from office, Steube argues that the time for action has come. He contends that Biden has been complicit in his son Hunter’s alleged wrongdoings and has shielded him from facing justice.

“Impeaching Joe Biden is long overdue,” Steube asserted in a statement. “His actions have eroded the dignity of his position, cast doubt on the Presidency, violated the trust vested in him, and operated in ways that undermine the rule of law, all at the expense of American citizens.”

Steube’s articles of impeachment consist of four allegations of high crimes and misdemeanors committed by Biden.

The first charge accuses the president of exploiting the power of his office through alleged acceptance of bribes and involvement in Hobbs Act extortion and honest services fraud. These accusations stem from Hunter and James Biden’s purported attempts to leverage then-Vice President Biden’s position between 2009 and 2017 for personal gains from foreign and domestic business partners.

A second article claims that Biden obstructed justice by colluding with the Justice Department (DOJ) to interfere with investigations into Hunter’s alleged tax crimes, as revealed by IRS whistleblower testimony. Both the DOJ and special counsel David Weiss, tasked with probing Hunter Biden, have refuted allegations of administration interference.

The third and fourth articles contend that Biden engaged in “fraud” and financed Hunter Biden’s illicit drug use and encounters with prostitutes.

“The evidence continues to accumulate – the Biden family has exploited Joe’s public positions for personal gain through bribery, intimidation, and deception. Joe Biden cannot remain in the White House, jeopardizing our nation,” Steube said.

On the same day, Steube also introduced a bill that would mandate the Secret Service chief to produce a report on illicit drug usage within the White House.

This move comes after a recent Secret Service investigation into cocaine found at the White House concluded without identifying a suspect. Steube’s bill, named the “Helping Understand Narcotics Traces at the Executive Residence (HUNTER) Act,” aims to shed light on the investigation’s findings and enhance oversight to prevent future drug-related incidents.
