Johnson’s suspicious activities, including bringing a blue bin into the apartment late at night and leaving in the victim’s vehicle while donning a blonde wig, raised concerns among neighbors. Despite initial police visits, the gruesome discovery was made during a wellness check prompted by neighbors’ reports of suspicious behavior.
Jose Marquez, a tenant, described Johnson as “well-dressed” and “quiet,” highlighting the stark contrast between appearance and alleged actions. Johnson, who claimed to have turned his life around after serving time for armed robberies, worked as a client advocate at Queens Defenders. His past includes involvement with the Bloods gang and a lengthy prison sentence.

The motive behind the murder remains murky, with suggestions of a feud stemming from the men’s time in prison. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed pending family notification.
