Biden Acknowledges 7th Grandchild After Denying Her Existence for Years

President Biden has publicly acknowledged his seventh grandchild, Navy Joan Roberts, for the first time after previously refusing to recognize her existence.

In a recent Jay Shatty Podcast episode, Biden mentioned his seven grandchildren, including Navy, and emphasized the importance of being there for them and providing support.

The President’s acknowledgment of Navy comes after he and his son Hunter Biden had long shunned her existence. Biden finally accepted her last week and spoke about her in a statement, clarifying that he and his wife, Jill Biden, want what is best for all their grandchildren, including Navy.

Previously, negative press and a New York Times op-ed by Maureen Dowd titled “It’s Seven Grandkids, Mr. President” drew attention to Biden’s failure to acknowledge Navy. The White House also left her out of a Christmas stocking display in 2022 and Biden mistakenly claimed to have only six grandchildren on various occasions.

Hunter Biden initially denied being Navy Joan’s father, but a DNA test in 2019 confirmed his paternity. He has since been involved in a child support case with Navy’s mother, Lunden Roberts. In March 2020, they reached an agreement to settle the paternity and child support suit, but the case was reopened when Hunter requested changes to the child support payments.
