Alec Baldwin INDICTED AGAIN In Deadly 'Rust' Shooting

Alec Baldwin has been charged again with involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film “Rust” in 2021. According to documents obtained by Fox News Digital, a grand jury indicted Baldwin on charges of involuntary manslaughter, negligent use of a firearm, or, alternatively, involuntary manslaughter without due caution or circumspection. The incident occurred during the rehearsal of a scene when a gun Baldwin was holding discharged, resulting in Hutchins’ death, Fox News Digital reports.

Baldwin’s lawyers, Alex Spiro and Luke Nikas, stated that they look forward to their day in court. The actor was initially charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter on January 31, but the charges were dropped in April. The prosecution claimed that “new facts” emerged, requiring further investigation. Special prosecutors Kari Morrissey and Jason Lewis later revealed that they would seek a grand jury decision on whether Baldwin should face criminal charges again.

The Hutchins family lawyer, Gloria Allred, expressed the family’s ongoing quest for truth through both the civil lawsuit and the criminal justice system. The grand jury’s decision to indict Baldwin on involuntary manslaughter charges sets the stage for a criminal trial.

Baldwin has consistently maintained that he did not pull the trigger of the gun on the day of the incident. However, the FBI conducted an accidental discharge test, concluding that the gun used in the fatal shooting “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger.”

New footage obtained by NBC News showed Baldwin firing a prop gun on the film set and expressing concern for the safety of those present. The video, taken before the fatal shooting, adds a layer of complexity to the case.

The legal proceedings have been marked by twists, with charges initially dropped and later reinstated based on additional evidence. The upcoming trial will determine whether Baldwin will be held criminally responsible for Hutchins’ death.

Baldwin’s defense continues to assert his innocence, while the prosecution contends that there is sufficient evidence for criminal charges.
