Tim Walz's Family Poses For Photo Showing Support For Trump

The family of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, who was chosen as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate, has caused significant embarrassment for the Democratic ticket by publicly supporting their presidential candidate in a controversial way.

Walz received a public rebuke from a branch of his family in Nebraska after eight relatives posted a group photo online wearing matching “Walz’s for Trump” T-shirts. The image went viral online Wednesday morning.

The photo attracted attention from prominent conservative figures, including Charles Herbster, a local cattle farmer. Herbster was among the first to share the image, tagging Donald Trump and Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH), and using the hashtag #SaveAmerica.

Since joining the Democratic ticket last month, Walz has become a contentious figure for Harris, with ongoing negative coverage about his leadership and background. The two addressed these issues in a joint interview last week on CNN, particularly focusing on criticisms related to Walz’s military service, though his explanation did not do much to mollify critics who claim he intentionally embellished his military career for political purposes.

The controversy intensified on Monday when Megyn Kelly highlighted accusations from former Minnesota National Guardsmen, who alleged that Walz engaged in “stolen valor” and acted as a “military impersonator.”

Walz has faced frequent criticism for making false claims about his military service, including incorrect assertions about achieving the rank of command sergeant major and serving in combat. Additionally, he has been criticized for retiring from the military in 2005, just as his unit was being notified of a deployment to Iraq.

The four vets alternately told the podcaster:

It is morally indefensible.

He didn’t care. It was about him.

He’s a military impersonator.

I don’t understand how he could do it — morally. Or he has absolutely no integrity.

The word went all across the state that he had quit — who the hell does that? Just, unbelievable that a CSM abandoned his troops, 500 soldiers, and a thousand parents out there who expect that person to lead them into combat.

He’s a habitual liar, he lies about everything, he lies about stuff that doesn’t make sense.

He basically said he’s got better things to do, go pick somebody else for the mission. If you sold out your guard unit and abandoned them, what are you going to do at the national level?
